Jim Cummings is in the Technology Assessment Branch in the Office of Site Remediation and Technology Innovation at EPA Headquarters. He has over 20 years of experience in the development, evaluation, and deployment of innovative hazardous waste remediation technologies. He was intimately involved in the development and implementation of the Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) program. He provides technical assistance to federal and state remedial project managers. He has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences. A major focus of his work has been in situ thermal technologies to address Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL) contamination. Recent areas of interest include combining technologies to achieve Remedial Action Objectives and cost-effective site closure.
